Mandela

Mandela, as explained by Carrasquilla, “In my feeling as an inhabitant of Nelson Mandela, a favela on the fringe of Cartagena (Colombia), and an artist, I am interested in realizing a work with communal participation. As a gesture in search of forgiveness and reconciliation.  As a cathartic act through which we will evidence that which attempted against and threatened our dignity and our life project and our context. My conception of resistance as an individual, an inhabitant of the fringe, as creator – is fed as I internalize resistance as a peaceful act, as an act of maintaining one’s convictions, without fearing rejection and exploring the multiplicity of options which allow the reconstruction in the presence of that which aims to destabilize.”
